Key Action IV: New perspectives in Aeronautics

The following actions have been identified

• Reducing aircraft development cost and time to market
• Improving aircraft efficiency
• Improving environmental freindliness of aircraft
• Improving operation capability and safety of aircraft

This Key Action responds to these pressures, setting strategic objectives at the European level. These include reducing production costs by 35%, development time by 20% and maintenance costs by 25%; reducing fuel costs by 20%; cutting Nox emissions by 80% and CO2 by 20%; and decreasing external and internal noise levels by 10%.
